PCGA Game United Contest Winners Announcement
At long last, we're ready to announce the winners of November's Game United contest. It will come as good news to all entrants that you guys are outnumbered by the prizes we were ready to give out but the quality of your entries was even higher than we'd anticipated. Thanks so much for the excellent content!
Our grand prize winners in the video category are Vinit Mundada and Joseph Wiggins! Vinit's video provides a couple of clever insights as to how the gaming experience could be improved: Old games could be freshened up on new engines, and operating systems could provide a function to allow games to be launched in boot-time with a single click. Joseph makes a sound case for the accessibility of PC gaming when compared to the brick-and-mortar inconvenience of consoles. Rest assured, guys we'll hold onto those thoughts. Enjoy your ultrabooks.
The realm of wiki entries proved more competitive, and we have three winners to announce. Taking home their grand prize ultrabooks, congratulations to Erik Sebellin-Ross and Jacob Scoggan!
Erik furnished our wiki with an extraordinarily salient guide to PR strategies for a game launch. He breaks it down to three key points: media relations, media lists, and pitches. Check his article out here. Jacob's article takes a look at a totally different side of the development equation programming. He shares some effective practices when it comes to conversion between two-dimension and one-dimensional array indexing. In both cases, we're confident that this is the first time such specialized information has been available in one place on the free internet, and we're excited to watch our wiki continue to grow.
Last but not least, Hugo Lowenstein provided us with two wiki articles one a concept for a successor to the gaming PC we're familiar with, the other for a new kind of arcade workstation. We'll hook him up with some sweet Logitech gear and Steam codes for Pyxelarts products.
We're tickled that our entrants were able to create such insightful and forward-thinking content, and we're looking forward to building this community as we move forward. Congratulations again to all entrants!
